Shadowrocket Price: One-Time Purchase and Service Fees

See what the US$2.99 one-time purchase covers, why App Store prices vary by region, and how the app purchase differs from service fees.

At a glance

Shadowrocket is a paid Apple-platform app available exclusively from the App Store. This guide is for anyone planning a purchase, checking a charge, or setting up a new device. Learn what the App Store price covers, how it differs from fees for a service you already use, and how to check your purchase history and connection settings.

1. Shadowrocket price: US$2.99 is a US storefront reference

Shadowrocket is listed at about US$2.99 on the US App Store as a one-time purchase. This is a reference price, not a standard price across all regions or a guarantee of the amount you will be charged. Check the current App Store product page and purchase confirmation screen for the actual price.

Prices are listed in each storefront’s local currency. Price tiers, applicable taxes, and payment-provider currency conversion can all affect the final amount. Multiplying the US dollar price by the current exchange rate does not tell you what another storefront should charge. When checking a bill, look at the currency, transaction description, and amount charged—not just the number.

Check the app purchase and any existing service separately

The purchase should be listed as Shadowrocket, with Shadow Launch Technology Limited as the developer. Check the app name, developer, and app ID together; use the icon only as a secondary check. Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. Purchasing the app grants access to the client; it does not pay for any remote service it connects to.

2. What the one-time purchase covers: app and service fees are separate

“One-time purchase” describes how you pay for the app. It does not mean a service lasts forever, includes unlimited data, or works on every network. Shadowrocket uses connection details you already have, applies routing settings, and establishes connections. Availability, data limits, and service duration depend on the terms of your existing service.

Bottom line: identify the charge before deciding what to do

If you see a charge or expiration notice, first work out whether it relates to the App Store app purchase or an existing service. If you already own the app but cannot connect, check your configuration and service status. Buying the app again will not fix a connection problem.

3. Before you buy: check the storefront, device, and confirmed price

Before purchasing, check the App Store details on the device you plan to use. Shadowrocket is primarily for iPhone and iPad. Compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision, as well as system requirements and purchase eligibility, are as listed on the App Store page. Do not assume your current device is eligible just because the app is available on another device.

  1. Check how to verify the genuine app. Visit the genuine app verification section of the download guide to check the app name, developer, and app ID before opening the App Store product page.
  2. Check the compatibility section. Make sure your device and system meet the requirements. If the App Store says the app is incompatible, resolve the compatibility issue first; it is not a payment problem.
  3. Check the purchasing account. Make sure the App Store account currently selected for purchases is the one you want to keep the purchase history under. Other accounts signed in on the device do not replace this check.
  4. Review the purchase confirmation. Check the app, currency, and price, then confirm the purchase as prompted by the system. A reference price on a website is not a substitute for this step.
  5. Keep the purchase record. After payment, check your App Store purchase history and the app’s status. If the app still does not appear as available after a charge, check the transaction status before trying to pay again.

If you’re wondering why the price isn’t US$2.99, check whether you’re viewing the US storefront, whether the price is shown in another currency, and whether the amount is for the app or a separate service. If the product page is temporarily unavailable, that alone does not prove a purchase was made or a charge occurred. See the storefront region troubleshooting guide and check each item.

4. Moving to another device: restoring a purchase does not restore all settings

When switching to an iPhone or iPad, first look for Shadowrocket in your App Store purchase history using the original purchasing account. If the purchase still applies, the app is available, and the device meets the requirements, you can generally download it again without purchasing it a second time within the same eligible scope. Check the App Store page for the applicable purchase terms.

Checklist: check purchase history on the old device and configuration on the new one

Original iPhone
  • Confirm which App Store account purchased Shadowrocket.
  • Check that the purchase history shows the correct app.
  • Check your existing connection details and the Config currently in use.
New iPhone or iPad
  • Use the original purchasing account to find the app in your purchase history.
  • Check compatibility, then download the app again.
  • Separately check connection details, configuration, and system permission to connect.

Purchase history restores your eligibility to download the app. Check separately in the app whether your connection details and configuration have also been restored. The app icon appearing on the device does not confirm that migration is complete.

If the app is missing from your purchase history, first check the purchasing account and original transaction record, then check availability in the current storefront. Do not immediately assume that the one-time purchase has expired. Purchasing account, storefront availability, and device compatibility are separate checks; record each result individually.

Even if the app has been restored on a new device, your existing service may limit the number of devices or simultaneous connections. Those are terms of the service you already use and are separate from whether the App Store lets you download the app again. Device settings should not be assumed to sync automatically. After restoring, check the connection entries in Home and the active configuration in Config.

5. Purchased the app but can’t connect? Check routing and service status separately

A successful payment completes the app purchase, but first use still requires connection details you already have, a check of the settings, and any connection permission requested by the system. Home shows connection entries and their status, Config manages configurations, and Settings lets you adjust app settings. The price you paid will not correct an incorrect setting.

When troubleshooting access, first note the current selection under Home → Global Routing. The comparison below covers Config and Proxy routing to help you narrow down the cause; neither is an extra paid feature. Global Routing also includes options such as Direct and Scene. Do not keep switching modes without noting the original setting.

Config: follow the active configuration

Recommended

Routing follows the rules and policies in the active configuration. Rules can send traffic direct, through a proxy, or take another action; traffic that does not match a rule is not necessarily sent direct. Check FINAL to see the fallback behavior.

Best for: everyday use with an existing, verified configuration and rule-based routing.

Proxy: test the proxy route

Connections handled by the app are routed through the proxy mode, so you can compare the result with Config. Switching to this mode does not extend an existing service or increase its allowance.

Best for: temporarily checking whether a routing rule is causing an access problem.

  1. Check your existing connection details first. In Home, check the entry type, server address, and port. For example, if your original details specify port 443, verify each digit. Do not replace it just because 443 is commonly used.
  2. Then check the service status. Confirm that your existing service has not expired or exceeded its allowance, and that subscription updates did not return an error. A successful update only means the content was retrieved; it does not guarantee that every entry will connect.
  3. Compare under the same conditions. Use the same network, connection entry, and destination to compare Config with Proxy. If a destination fails only in Config, check the matching rule and final policy.
  4. Check automatic connection settings. Go to Settings → On Demand and check whether connection-on-demand is enabled. This controls when connections are triggered; it does not indicate payment status or service renewal.
  5. Restore your original settings when done. Record the test results, then switch back to the original routing mode. For further troubleshooting, see the connection troubleshooting guide. Repeatedly buying the app will not fix the problem.

For example, if the same entry reaches a destination in Proxy but fails in Config, check how the configuration matches that traffic first. This does not indicate a problem with the app purchase. If both modes fail, do not assume the service has expired; also check the address, port, authentication details, and local network.

6. Common questions about price and renewals

Does Shadowrocket require a monthly App Store renewal?

The app is a one-time purchase, not a monthly subscription for app access. A service you already use may have its own monthly, annual, or usage-based charges; check those separately. If you see an expiration notice, first identify its source, then check the relevant record.

Why are there no connections in Home after I buy the app?

The app purchase does not include a connection service. Import your own connection details or an existing subscription, then check its contents and validity. For help importing an existing subscription, see the subscription guide. An empty list does not mean the purchase failed.

If I buy Shadowrocket on iPhone, do I have to pay again on iPad?

On your iPad, first use the original purchasing account to look up the app in your purchase history, then check its download status. Device compatibility, universal purchase availability, and purchase eligibility are as listed on the App Store page. Do not assume your App Store purchasing account is the same just because both devices use the same account for another service.

Do I need a more expensive version of Shadowrocket for a faster connection?

Connection speed is no reason to buy the app again. Keep the connection entry the same and compare your local network, service status, and routing results. Latency, throughput, and packet loss describe the connection; App Store purchase history proves your app entitlement. They address different issues.

Verify the app and check purchase eligibility

The App Store is the only place to get Shadowrocket. Before purchasing, check the app name, developer Shadow Launch Technology Limited, and app ID 932747118. Price, system requirements, compatibility, and purchase eligibility are as listed on the App Store page. If you already have the app, go straight to the guide to check import and connection steps.
